Capsule endoscopy is most commonly used for obscure and or overt GI bleeding- meaning when the bleeding is occuring from the digestive tract but endoscopy and colonoscopy findings are normal.

How is capsule endoscopy done ?
- Capsule endoscopy uses a tiny capsule and has a camera at the tip which keeps clicking photos as it traverses your digestive tract.This photos are recorded with the help of a transducer attached to your body wirelessly.
- Patient has to swallow this capsule after making the bowel clean with the use of medication and the capsule remains working upto 12 hours.
- It passes out with stool usually without causing any trouble.
