Fibroscan ® is the latest technology to know the health of your liver without any pain or without doing liver biopsy.
It is one kind of ultrasound but uses a special machine to measure the elastography of the liver.

  • It measures liver stiffness (LSM) which suggest stage of fibrosis (damaged done to liver)
  • It also measures steatosis with the help of Ultrasound attenuated parameters (UAP) which suggest the amount of fat in your liver (grade of fatty liver).

    How is Fibroscan ® done ?

    Fibroscan ® is done using special equipment which is like ultrasonography. The probe is kept in the right upper quadrant after applying gel for better conduction of waves and measurements are taken.

    Is Fibroscan ® painful?

    No it is completely painless procedure

    Can I eat before Fibroscan ® ?

    4 hours fasting is required for accurate measurement of liver stiffness
